Everyone wants to be superheroes, but no one wants to be bitten by some mutant spider for that. You can still rejoice for yourself, because if you have not heard, we humans have our own unrealized superpowers dormant in these earthly vessels, which are called our bodies.
Here are some superpowers that everyone has!
1. Our brain is capable of generating electricity
Our neurons are used to transmit messages to the brain, and they produce a pretty decent amount of electricity in the process. In fact, the 20 watts of electricity they generate is enough to power something like a dim lamp!
2. Our bones are stronger than steel
Promotional video:
For at least 30 years, our bones are stronger than most of the strongest materials in existence. They can carry four times the load of concrete. Without exaggeration, our bones are actually 5 times stronger than steel!
3. We are able to change our mood by changing facial expressions
Ironically, it is scientifically proven that facial expression affects mood more than thoughts or emotions. This, of course, does not cause an instant release of dopamine or something, but rather acts more subtly.
4. Our eyes are practically 576 megapixel cameras
Different phones are equipped with different megapixel cameras, 8 - 12 - 41 megapixels. There's even a 120-megapixel DSLR. However, our eyes have a staggering 576 megapixels! This allows us to distinguish nearly 10 million shades.
5. We can use an adrenaline rush to awaken completely abnormal strength
The sudden burst of energy that can be triggered by engaging in extreme sports is known as an adrenaline rush. Let's say bungee jumping, racing, or skydiving. This hormonal injection gives us the strength to achieve high athletic performance.
6. We can use sound to "see" like bats
There are few people among people who are able to navigate in space using echolocation. Nevertheless, they exist. Their hearing organs are so sensitive that they completely replace vision.
Often this ability is found in the blind, but everyone can develop this quality in themselves - blindfold and be patient.
7. Our hearts generate enough energy to move the truck
It may sound like a crazy idea, but our hearts actually generate enough energy every day to move a truck 32 km! Such power is contained within one person.
8. We can go without food for up to two months
Scientists say that a person can live without food for up to two months, and this is supported by documentary evidence. A Swede named Peter Skylberg was trapped in a car, buried under a layer of snow. He survived by feeding on snow alone!
9. Our nose can recognize and memorize 50,000 different scents
Human scent, of course, is not a dog's, but, nevertheless, our nose is equipped with rather thin olfactory sensors. Remembering 50,000 different scents and smells is not an achievement!
10. Our stomach acids are so strong that our body regrows a new stomach lining every 3 days
Our gastric juice, with the help of which food is digested, at the same time dissolves the stomach lining, but, fortunately, our body completely renews it every 3 days. If this did not happen, the same acids would simply digest our stomach! How disgusting!
