According to theuk.one, on December 27, 2017, the police received a call that a man in flames was on fire in the middle of Thanet Road in Hull. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, but arrived too late. The man died on the spot at approximately 20:00 GMT.

We are trying to find out the circumstances of the case, so we ask everyone who has any information to contact the police at 101. We want to find out as soon as possible what happened to this person and punish those responsible."
The road was reportedly closed for three hours after the incident, with police patrolling the area for security reasons.
