Thousands of sea worms called "penis fish" have thrown themselves onto the California beach. The coastline, over an area of more than two kilometers, is littered with their bodies.
“I walked for another half hour, and they were scattered all over the place. All the way along the coast, seagulls lined up, eating so many of these strange fish that they could barely stay on their feet, - said an eyewitness.
“These creatures were pink and about 15 centimeters long with a small nipple protrusion at the end. To be honest, it looked like hundreds of thousands of members were washed ashore. I didn't expect to see such strange creatures on earth,”said a local Ford.
Ford photographed these creatures and searched the Internet to solve the mystery of the strange creatures washed ashore and discovered that they are a type of worm:
Urechis unicinctus is a species of marine worms from the subclass Echiurids. In European languages, there is no generally accepted name for this species, with the exception of Latin. However, in English-speaking countries, because of its shape, this animal was unofficially called "penis fish".
