Today indifference, egoism, individualism are cultivated under the slogan of protecting "personal freedom". Cruelty, murder, sadism are romanticized. Much is being done, and not without success, in order to introduce a person into the world of illusory ideas about life, to foster a sense of its hopelessness and meaninglessness, in order to “free” the individual from responsibility for the present and the future.
A person is literally bombarded with propaganda that darkens his views, appeals to his prejudices, and deliberately misinforms him. Another plague that has permeated society is a lie. Lies that have permeated the media, from tabloid newspapers and commercial radio stations to respectable magazines and government newspapers. Now the means of propaganda, including today's political science, have achieved great shamelessness in this. The crudest falsification of facts, misinformation, slander are her favorite techniques. And the cynical statements about the so-called objectivity, the heap of everything that is printed in the newspapers and said on the radio, the flat, one-sided presentation of the news gives the lie the same weight and significance as the truth. It is difficult for people to imagine how bizarre the presentation of facts can be, or WHAT is generally presented as facts.
Lies in today's society are elevated to the principle of morality and politics, and when it turns out to be absolutely obvious, it no longer causes the former indignation today. It turns out to be even more dynamic and preferable to the truth. A person ceases to tremble before the truth. Borders are crumbling. Now, in the imagination of a person, the possibility of lying is contained in any real truth. Today's propaganda devotes a lot of energy to fostering the same indifference to truth and falsehood, thus fulfilling its most important function of washing out human moral values.
Lying is no longer a means of manipulation, standing somewhere alongside others. She no longer performs mainly in the shy clothes of various reservations. Lies today are the principle of political, ideological, informational activity that permeates all political life, and not only in Russia. Until recently, the ruling "elite" and the staff of journalists and political scientists serving it had to somehow trick, dilute lies about the internal policy of the government with half-truths or get rid of general arguments about the "imperfection" of information, "insufficient" professionalism, the complexity of the situation, "everyone's right to their own interpretation. events ". All barriers have been lifted today. And the lies, degradation, shamelessness and violence that permeate society are called the payment for freedom.
The eminent philosopher Dario Salas Sommer writes in his book "Moral of the XXI century": “Our tool of cognition is limited and malfunctions, but no one is interested in its development, since it is beneficial for someone that a person remains an obedient consumer. To support this, a host of myths are created. To hide the truth is actually very simple, you just have to tell a lie everywhere and everywhere, and in the end it will be passively accepted without any doubts."
