In the sky over the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, shortly before the destruction of the fourth power unit of the plant, "a large dark headless creature with giant wings and bright red eyes" appeared. This is reported by the information portal News.com, the translation of the article of which is provided by PolitRussia exclusively for its readers.

News.com correspondents interviewed Sydney archaeologist Robert Maxwell, who has twice visited the Chernobyl exclusion zone. While conducting research with his group in a territory forbidden for free access, he heard the legend about the "Chernobyl thrush", which became an omen of a terrible disaster.

In 2005, Maxwell first learned about this story, according to which five employees of the nuclear power plant saw "a dark, headless creature with giant wings and bright red eyes." According to him, the eyewitnesses were tormented by nightmares after what they saw. The archaeologist noted that the creature described in the legend resembles "Moffman" (or "Moth Man"). This is the so-called cryptid creature from the American urban legend, seen repeatedly in the 1960s at Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Reports of "Mofman" ended after the collapse of the Silver Bridge on December 15, 1967. Many argue that this creature was some kind of omen of an impending disaster.

It is worth noting that the blackbird is also a mystical symbol foreshadowing sad events.

Maxwell stressed that there is also another version, according to which these creatures are "time travelers" who are trying to prevent terrible disasters.
