Nine days after the end of hostilities in the country, thousands of people saw the image of the Virgin in the skies over Abidjan. People were sure that they were seeing the Virgin Mary, and they fell into religious ecstasy.
A silhouette of the Virgin Mary appeared in the sky over the largest city of Côte d'Ivoire on the afternoon of April 20. Thousands of people who were on the streets at that moment began to shout that they saw the Mother of God in the rays of the sun.
Dressed in loose robes, she stretched out her arms towards the inhabitants of the city, as if blessing them. Residents of the largest city of Abidjan tried to photograph a divine phenomenon, but, according to the author of one of the videos, everything did not work out as well as he would like - the camera was able to transmit only a small part of the image that people saw.
“I myself am not a Catholic, but if it was a UFO, they would have shouted:“Yes, this is a flying saucer!”, But they shouted that they see the Virgin Mary, so they saw her,” says one of the eyewitnesses.
Recently, similar phenomena have often appeared on the territory of the republic. On March 31, also in Abidjan, people from different parts of the city watched another divine manifestation - a ray of light descending from heaven to earth.
The insurgents of Côte d'Ivoire believed that the Mother of God supported them during the civil war that began in the country in late March. Local residents say that one of the statues of the Virgin Mary in Abidjan miraculously changed the position of his hands.
“She used to always hold her hands as if she was praying, but now she folded them on her chest with a cross,” said the father of the family Benjamin, who lives near the statue.
This sign can be interpreted in different ways, but residents unanimously assure that this is exactly what happened.
