Truly sensational news came from Shymkent today. While swimming in one of the suburban lakes, a fifth grade student caught real tropical jellyfish from the water. Scientists have already called this phenomenon a natural anomaly and are now trying to figure out how these exotic creatures got into the South Kazakhstan reservoir. In turn, the schoolboy, who has already become a celebrity in his homeland, has collected all the information about his find and knows that the homeland of his pets is South America
Tropical jellyfish live in Shymkent reservoirs. The first to know about it was the fifth grader Mark Lee. Swimming in the suburban Toguz lake, the child unexpectedly came across mysterious creatures.
Mark Lee, resident of Shymkent:
- I went into the water, I see that something is floating. I thought it was a simple piece of foil, but it began to move, pulsate. I scooped it up with water glasses, it turned out to be a jellyfish. There were a lot of them.
The boy caught jellyfish, brought them home and began to study the Internet. Within half an hour, Mark knew that his find were freshwater jellyfish. This species is called craspedacusta and is native to the Amazon region of South America. Recently, similar abodes of the underwater world were found in the floodplain of the Moscow River. Russian scientists explained their appearance by the abnormal heat characteristic of the jellyfish habitat. And South Kazakhstani biologists believe that migratory birds or even aquarium fish that arrived from America could become their carriers.

- Some kind of wave, the wind is strong, everything rises, and through the air can get to any place. They multiply by budding, at least one cell gets into the water, they multiply quickly.
Scientists say they will give a more detailed answer after exploring the Toguz reservoir. A whole group of specialists went to the lake, and they must find out how the tropical creatures got to Shymkent and what caused their reproduction.
