On that day, according to Yuri Suprunenko, local residents had to observe something unusual. A brightly glowing cylinder-shaped object with a tapered front appeared in the sky. It was about 6 m long and 4 m in diameter. There were no wings. There were no hatches or portholes visible on its surface. A bluish flame erupted from the back. A piercing whistle was heard: from the ground to the object no more than a hundred meters, and it descended at a speed of 300-400 km / h According to some eyewitnesses, a second similar object flew after the first. Meanwhile, the first, without reducing speed, crashed into the slope of Mount El Tayre. At the time of the impact, a bright flash of light appeared, illuminating the area within a radius of 150 km around, and a monstrous roar was heard. The tremors were felt even in neighboring Argentina. The air wave knocked out windows in houses within a radius of 70 km. After the explosion, a crater about 1500 m long, about 500 m wide, and about 400 m deep was formed.
Local authorities not only did not give any explanations, but also urgently ordered to cordon off the area of Mount El-Tayre with troops and declare it a forbidden zone. However, the local population, tourists and researchers in every way discussed the version of the UFO crash. By the way, the catastrophes of the alleged unidentified flying objects with the presence of "material evidence" happened before. For example, in neighboring Brazil near São Paulo in 1957, a shiny disk was seen flying at high speed. In front of eyewitnesses, it suddenly began to decline, then stopped, swayed and exploded, crumbling into thousands of small pieces.
On a clear day, brightly glowing fireworks shot up in the sky. Part of the fallen debris was collected by local residents. The material was light as paper with a rough surface. A number of Brazilian laboratories have carried out spectral analysis of these fragments. He showed the presence of magnesium with a special crystal structure, which cannot be obtained under terrestrial conditions. Metallographic and microscopic analyzes, in turn, revealed a significant content of strontium, which is usually not combined with magnesium.
“The Brazilian incident is listed in the Encyclopedia Britannica, which, as a rule, does not allow itself to publish unverified facts. In the post-war years, several dozen similar cases were recorded in various parts of the world! - says Yuri Suprunenko. - More than 70 thousand UFO photographs were taken, over 120 filming was made.
Today, much of this documentary data has become available to the general public. But until recently, the information was classified as "top secret", "for official use", "top secret" and "only for viewing" … The main reason for such top secrecy is the rivalry of powers in the field of weapons. The explosion on the slope of El Tayre also received the stamp " secret. " After cordoning off the mountain by troops, a special commission was created to find out the reasons for what happened.
