During a scientific expedition to Antarctica, a group of scientists, consisting of representatives from different countries, was able to find more than a ton of diverse marine dinosaur fossils.
After processing the discovered remains, paleontologists came to the conclusion that before them are the remains of three species of ancient marine dinosaurs. According to preliminary data, these are plesiosaurs and mesosaurs. In addition, in Antarctica, scientists have discovered ancient birds that lived at the end of the Cretaceous period. There were these early ducks, which outwardly differed slightly from the birds we are accustomed to.
All of these representatives of the ancient world could be seen in the Steven Spielberg film "Jurassic Park", which gained great popularity among the audience. Speaking about the age of the fossil remains, paleontologists note that some finds have already been attributed to a period of 71 million years.
Scientists note that there are many fragments among the finds and not a single whole skeleton. However, this is typical for the discovery of fossils from this period. Often, paleontologists rarely manage to find a skeleton that is complete and well preserved. The discovery of a theropod skeleton in Germany can be considered one of these rare, successful finds.
