Once upon a time, a very wise ruler lived in a distant magical land. He was the most democratic and kindest ruler in the world. True, none of his subjects saw him. If someone received permission for an audience, then they communicated with some kind of abstraction. The capital of this country was built from pure emerald. In fact, of course, it was built of glass, but officially everyone was told that it was an emerald. And to make it easier for residents to believe that it is an emerald, all residents and tourists visiting the city were required to wear green glasses. It was forbidden to shoot them on pain of death. Democracy is harsh but fair. And to save people from this temptation to take off their glasses, all of them had their glasses fastened with a key, and the keys were kept by the chief military commander.

The military commander, besides keeping the keys, put glasses on everyone, did nothing. More precisely, he did it: he was scratching his beard, braiding it in pigtails, showing off in front of the mirror … in general, he held a single gay picket every day on the main tower of the city.

And then one day a cheerful company fell to this ruler - a girl with pigtails and a talking dog, a brainless scarecrow who tried to speak beautifully, but always confused words, an invalid, who has prostheses not only instead of legs and arms, but also instead of a head and even instead of tie an iron prosthesis, a lion that was more like a character like a rabbit.

The ruler looked at this big top and a thought occurred to him. And what if you send this farce to war with one evil and undemocratic ruler. She ruled a neighboring country. There were many minerals and metallurgy was well developed. The whole trouble was that nothing was deducted from this metallurgy to the emerald capital.

That ruler was angry and very bad. Her biggest fault was that she wielded a formidable weapon - ̶k̶r̶y̶l̶a̶t̶y̶m̶i̶ ̶r̶a̶k̶e̶t̶a̶m̶i̶ flying monkeys. She didn't use them. She took care of it in case of emergency, if she was suddenly attacked. And with this she especially irritated the wise and kind ruler.

Not that the ruler believed in the victory of the little girl with pigtails and her menagerie over the dictatorship of the neighboring country, but the dictator would spend at least a part of her ̶k̶r̶y̶l̶a̶ty̶y̶h ̶r̶a̶k̶e̶t̶ ̶ flying monkeys on them. And he sent them to fight.

It takes a long time for the tale to tell, but not soon the work is done. The pigtailed girl and her menagerie were lucky. They defeated the dictator. The dictatorship collapsed and democracy was established everywhere. A disabled man with an iron tie became the governor of a metallurgical principality. His new subjects made him a golden carriage and drove him around the city and cried with emotion, looking at him, because he was kind, and not evil, like a dictator.

The brainless scarecrow became the mayor of the emerald city. Not because the city did not find a more suitable applicant for this position, but because the services to democracy - you understand. The pigtailed girl flew to Kansas, and the lion became the king of beasts and went into the forests to establish democracy there.
