When we talk about Japan, any man immediately remembered the gentle and sophisticated geisha. Books and films have popularized this ancient profession. But if you look closely, you can find a lot of very interesting facts, which are almost unknown to the European man in the street.
To begin with, we mispronounce the word geisha. In Japan, it sounds like a geisha, and is translated as a man of art. The duties of the gays were to please the guests with singing, playing musical instruments and having an interesting conversation. Prostitution was not included in the list of duties, although unofficially such cases did occur.

Eyebrows and eyelashes were painted with black paint, and lips with bright red lipstick in the form of a flower.
The geisha's hairstyles spoke of her professionalism, the more complex the hairstyle, the more experienced the girl was. If yujo loved a lot of jewelry and neckline, geisha neglected jewelry and mostly opened their backs. I must say that the geisha's hairstyles were so complex that they had to sleep on a special stand.
Since geisha wore high wooden sandals, it was possible to walk on them only with short steps; girls learned such a gait from childhood. Since the sandals greatly increased their height, the geisha were hit by girls no higher than 160 cm tall.
The attitude towards geisha and yujo was rather consumerist. It was considered normal to give such a girl for some holiday. Often the wives of noble samurai pampered them with such exquisite entertainment. Moreover, the expenses were borne by the wives.
