Scientists from Oxford concluded that alien life forms may be much more similar to terrestrial ones.
According to the International Journal of Astrobiology, previous research in astrobiology was primarily an attempt to replicate human knowledge about life on other worlds.
As one of the authors of the study, Sam Levin, writes, “our work proposes a different approach - to use evolutionary theory, abstracting from the 'earthly' details.”
It is noted that the development of life in the Universe is determined by the same processes and mechanisms as on Earth. This, of course, is about natural selection. If such evolutionary processes take place not only on Earth, with a certain probability it can be assumed that evolution on other planets will make their inhabitants look like earthlings, scientists believe.
“We cannot say if the aliens will walk on two legs or have big green eyes. But, in our opinion, the evolutionary theory is a unique tool in order to try to understand what they will turn out to be, Levin summed up.
Prior to that, Russian ufologists made a forecast for 2017. According to their predictions, the visits of aliens to Earth will intensify, and this will happen in the Urals.
