This artifact was discovered in 1916 in Sudan. He was found during the excavation of the tomb of the ruler Amani-natake-lebta in Nuri. The excavations were carried out by an expedition from Harvard University.

Similar artifacts have been found in other royal tombs in Nuri, Sudan, but none have been recorded anywhere. Apparently due to the fact that they could not explain their purpose.

Artifacts of this type are called cylindrical scabbards. Most of them were made of gold or silver and consisted of 2 parts. One cylinder was attached to the base and was longer, and the other was smaller, and inside it had a kind of sleeve that allowed them to be connected together.

All these cylinders are dated from 500-600 BC. The height of the artifact is 12 centimeters and the diameter is 3.1 centimeters.

Most of the cylinders are decorated with friezes from Urey, heads of rams, royal names and ancient deities.

We see an image of a goddess with wings on the lower cylinder, and on the upper ram's head and a frieze with Ureus snakes. What kind of object this is - remains a mystery.

It has been suggested that they served to store documents or other records. However, it did not stand up to criticism, because the bottom of the cylinder is open. Not visible in the photo, but judging by the description, the artifact resembles a tube, only without covers.

Such careful execution and the depiction of deities may indicate an imitation of the objects of the ancient gods. It may have been a ritual artifact for royal families.

Despite all the guesswork, the true purpose of the artifact remains a mystery.
