Everyone knows that the universe is constantly expanding, right? Or, in any case, if you were not in the know before, you know now.

We live in an expanding universe. Each galaxy is moving further and further from the neighboring one.

And this, of course, leads to the question - since the Universe is expanding, where exactly? Further into the Universe? Into nothing? Into something that looks like fog? Where is the edge, figuratively speaking, of the cosmic soap bubble?

So, our universe has an edge. Unless, of course, by "our Universe" you mean the visible part of it. The speed of light, despite the speed, is precisely this and nothing more - speed. The universe, no matter how long it has existed, has a starting point. It began about 13.77 billion years ago. From this it follows that only a certain part of it was demonstrated to us by light, which traveled vast distances in space.

What is beyond the visible limits? The answer is simple - even more similar, i.e. galaxies, black holes, and, of course, delicious, unexplored cheeses. In the near future, it will hardly be possible to change the status of inaccessibility, but, nevertheless, outside the visible universe, life continues.

Evidence indicates that the Milky Way is in the center and, therefore, the rest of the galaxies are moving further and further from the center. Therefore, the thought arises that the Universe must have an edge beyond which it cannot expand. But imagine that you managed to get into the Andromeda galaxy. Once there, you will again see that you are in the center, and other galaxies are moving away from it. A similar picture will be observed in any other galaxy.

This is precisely the meaning of the phrase "The universe is expanding." It is most likely not infinite. But it is also not a fact that she must have an edge. In other words, something can constantly arise from nothing.
