The ancient legends that the locals told about the Khust castle were partially confirmed. Tourists, who decided at night to climb to the top to the ruins of fortifications to look at the night city, accidentally photographed what they believe were ghosts. Silhouettes of incomprehensible creatures in the frames, women examined only on the computer at home.

As the newspaper "Nash Khust" writes, Adriana Tenditnaya from Kremenchug became a witness of the unknown. The woman assures that she is by nature a materialist and never believed in otherworldly forces. Since the ruins of the castle were illuminated in winter, being in the city, she decided with her friend and children to climb the top of the hill to admire the beauty of the night Khust.

At first, on the slope, the women lost their flashlight, but this did not prevent them from traveling around the castle. Then suddenly the light went out in the castle itself. This did not stop the campaign and did not frighten. They continued to admire the scenery, and on the way back they found a flashlight and the lighting appeared. Despite the darkness, the women took a lot of pictures in the area among the ruins, and when they returned to the city and put the children to bed, they decided to upload the pictures to the computer.

Only then did they consider what they had “filmed”. In a few shots, silhouettes are clearly visible in the background. At the same time, Adriana assures that while walking through the ruins, they did not meet a single living soul, and did not even hear "extraneous sounds." According to her, in one photo you can see the figure and even the face of a pretty girl, in the other - an unfriendly figure of a man in a mantle, and in the third, supposedly someone who looks like a dwarf.

Since the authors of the pictures could not sleep, they "studied" the Internet and found that they had photographed local ghosts, which the residents of Khust tell about. After the pictures were published on the social network, in the very regional center in the east of Transcarpathia, an increased interest of tourists to their castle is noted.

Note that the castle was built as a Hungarian royal fortress to protect the salt road from Solotvin and border areas. Its construction began in 1090 and was completed under King Bel III in 1191. Now only fragments of medieval walls have survived in Khust. Moreover, the castle was destroyed not by hordes of conquerors, but by natural phenomena.

So, on July 3, 1766, during a thunderstorm, lightning struck the powder tower, an explosion of terrible force and fire destroyed almost all buildings. The consequences were so serious that the repair work was abandoned. The ruins have become a source of cheap building materials. In 1798, another thunderstorm brought down the tower in the southeastern part of the castle, and in 1799 the eastern part of the castle was dismantled for the construction of a Catholic church and various state houses in Khust.
