Santa Severa

This castle, built already in the XII century, is located very close to Rome. Both locals and tourists talk about the strange creaks, rustles and groans that are heard in the walls of the castle. In addition, an invisible hand is moving objects here.

According to myths, it was here that the Saint of the North, one of the first Christian women, found her death. For refusing to renounce her Christian faith, she was first severely beaten and then killed. Probably, the girl's body was buried in a cemetery, which was recently discovered near the city during archaeological excavations. The burial numbered several hundred graves. Perhaps, together with Santa Severa, her other killed like-minded people were buried. Many Italians believe that the ghost of Santa Severa has settled in the castle forever.

The castle in Poppy became famous primarily for the fact that in the medieval era, knightly tournaments were often held in it. And now, on the territory of the castle, the stomping of horses' hooves, the sound of metal and human screams are periodically heard … According to legend, the knights killed in tournaments continue to fight even after death.

Another legend is connected with the castle. After the death of one of the princes Guido, his wife Matilda remained a widow. She was still young enough to seek amorous pleasures. But either the princess was a sadist, or she did not want her lovers to flutter their tongues. In general, every night of love ended with the next young man, who shared a bed with Matilda, thrown into a hole, at the bottom of which there were sharp blades. There he found his death.

However, since the princess chose her beloved among the inhabitants of Poppy and the young men who stayed with her disappeared more than once, the townspeople one day learned about the atrocities and, as punishment for the cruel murders, allegedly immured Matilda alive in one of the castle walls. After that, they began to see her ghost in the castle.

Montebello

This castle is located near the resort town of Rimini. It is said that it once belonged to a local official who had a little daughter named Gwendoline. The baby was born albino, her hair and skin were devoid of pigment and looked completely white. In those days, such an appearance was considered ugly, and in addition, many believed that albinos were associated with evil spirits. The parents feared for the girl and tried to dye her hair a different color. But for some reason it always came out blue. Therefore, she was nicknamed Azzurina - Blue Girl.

The adults did not allow Azzurina to go outside the castle and play with her peers, and also tried to make her appear less visible to strangers altogether. She had to be content with a few servants.

One day during a thunderstorm, Azzurina disappeared. Subsequently, many versions were put forward. According to one of them, she rushed down the stairs to the basement for a falling ball and broke her neck, and the servants concealed the accident. According to another, the murder of the girl was set up by her parents: they were afraid that because of their daughter they would be accused of witchcraft or other repressive measures would be applied to them. According to the third, something supernatural happened to the baby …

One way or another, they say that children crying and laughing are periodically heard from the castle dungeons. And someone seemed to have personally seen a girl with blue hair in the castle …

Villa de Vecci

Near Lake Como in the mountains of Northern Italy, in the commune of Cortenova, there is a beautiful abandoned Baroque mansion. The building was built in 1854 by Count Felice de Vecci.

In his youth, de Vecchi traveled a lot, but after starting a family, he decided to settle in his homeland. The Earl decided to build a country residence in a picturesque area on a 32-acre site.

For several years the de Vecchi family spent the summer months at the villa. But in 1862 tragedy struck.

One day the count returned home and found the dead body of his wife. And their little daughter disappeared into nowhere. Perhaps she was also killed and the body was hidden in the forest. Or perhaps she ran away from the criminals … One way or another, the inconsolable father spent a lot of time and money looking for his daughter, but everything turned out to be fruitless. In the same year, the 46-year-old count committed suicide. It happened in the same ill-fated summer mansion.

The plot, along with the villa, was inherited by the Count's closest relative - his brother Biago de Vecchi. He rebuilt the building. Members of the de Vecchi family owned the estate until World War I. After that, she several times passed from one owner to another.

According to legend, in the 20s. of the last century, the famous occultist and satanist Aleister Crowley visited here. Perhaps some kind of ritual was performed in this gloomy place.

In 1960, another owner put the villa up for sale. But no one wanted to live in a house with such a tragic and frightening story.

Despite the fact that the building looks very dilapidated, it still won't collapse. Even a stone landslide that destroyed many houses in a neighboring village in 2002 did not affect Villa de Vecchi. There are rumors among local residents that the house was protected by otherworldly forces.

Some daredevils who ventured into an abandoned building say they saw ghosts inside, including the ghost of a little girl. And sometimes the sounds of a piano are heard from the house. They say that the murdered Countess was a good pianist. After death, spirits often continue to do what they did during life …
