“It should be about the creation of a new scientific education, if you like, an institute of hominology, which would conduct searches and, at the same time, study the found samples,” said Igor Burtsev, one of the leading Russian professional researchers of the so-called “Bigfoot”, while noting that at present the Russian Academy of Sciences does not officially recognize the existence of "Bigfoot" and is skeptical about the work of private researchers

Last week, the Kemerovo region administration disseminated information that in Gornaya Shoria, in the Azasskaya cave area, local hunters saw some humanoid creatures covered with hair, 1.5-2 meters in height. Attached to the message was a photograph from the cave, possibly showing the trail of an unknown creature.

According to experts, all this is nothing more than a PR campaign of local authorities to attract tourists to Gornaya Shoria.

Burtsev has no doubt that these creatures live in the Kuzbass. Burtsev noted that this territory is part of the Altai mountain system and is considered a breeding ground for "snowmen".

“At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, we met both females with children and just adolescents,” he said, adding that in 1976 he headed a search group in the Mongolian Altai as part of the Soviet-Mongolian historical and cultural expedition, and there researchers also collected a lot of information about these creatures, met with eyewitnesses who saw them.

“Therefore, there is nothing special in the fact that in the Kemerovo region they saw the“Bigfoot”, - he said.

Answering the question about what can be said about the “Kuzbass” “Bigfoot”, based on the available information, Burtsev noted that the photos published in the media are “too low-quality to say anything about them”.

According to him, it is desirable for him to visit the place himself in order to “fix everything professionally”. But for the expedition to Kuzbass he has no funds.

According to Burtsev, earlier reports of the discovery of "Bigfoot" came from various places in the Russian Federation - Western Siberia, Yakutia, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Leningrad regions.

According to Burtsev, the "snowmen" are Neanderthals who have survived to this day, who have adapted to life in the wild, like all animals.

According to the interlocutor of the agency, in Russia it is necessary to create a new institute for the study of the so-called "snowmen".

"We should talk about the creation of a new scientific education, if you like, an institute of hominology, which would conduct searches and, at the same time, study the found samples," said Burtsev, noting that at present the Russian Academy of Sciences is not officially acknowledges the existence of Bigfoot and is skeptical of the work of private researchers.

“The attitude of the RAS academicians can be explained by the fact that the existence of the“Bigfoot”contradicts the established ideas about the origin of man. The second reason: in 1958, a large expedition was carried out to find this creature in the Pamir Mountains (southern Central Asia). Significant funds were spent on it, but the expedition ended in vain. After that, they decided that it was enough to spend money on this, as they thought, nonsense, and the Academy of Sciences did not do it anymore,”Burtsev said.

He also said that private researchers have hair, bones, excrement, traces of "snowmen", but today there is no way to study them in a laboratory. “We have casts with papillary patterns, but no one is studying them. DNA research is very expensive,”said Burtsev.

As the head of the anthropology department of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), Doctor of Historical Sciences Sergei Vasiliev told RIA Novosti earlier, anthropological scientists have never met and examined the bodies of the "Bigfoot" (yeti), although information about meetings with him comes constantly from different places.

At the same time, the Yeti always see one individual, which is biological nonsense, the scientist noted. After all, there must be a large population of yeti, so that it persists from generation to generation. And the Earth is not such an unexplored object, and if there was such a population, they would know about it, he believes.

According to Vasiliev, information about the discovery of "snowmen" is just people's imaginations. “In reality, they do not exist, just as there is no scientific side of this issue,” the scientist emphasized.

The representative of the press service of the Kemerovo region administration previously told RIA Novosti that a scientific expedition would be formed in the region, which should confirm or deny the version that the unknown creature seen by the hunters is a relic hominid (mammals belonging to the order of primates, preserved to our days since the time of human ancestors), called Bigfoot. Many enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and hunters are ready to take part in it and provide assistance in its implementation.
