Outwardly, Biryukov's life seemed ideal. He is the son of a hero of the Soviet Union. His father brought up the real character of a fighter in him. Tolik as a child was a diligent and hardworking boy: he always did his homework and never shirked helping around the house.
It is no wonder that Anatoly was later appreciated at work. Someone chuckles, they say, what is there to value - an ordinary factory worker. However, everyone in production, regardless of the position, knew that Biryukov could be relied on, he would never let him down.
Such men are always attracted to women. Each is looking for a reliable shoulder, but here, it would seem, is an ideal. Take it - I don't want to. Biryukov married before the age of 30. Soon, children appeared in the family - two girls. The newly-minted father didted on his crumbs and his beautiful wife.
When the dirty side of the life of an exemplary family man was revealed, everyone gasped. It just couldn't be Anatoly! Smart, well-read, hard-working, loving and … a maniac? No, something was clearly not connected here. However, the fact remained.
On September 16, 1977, Biryukov walked home from work. The route was familiar: here is Detsky Mir - the favorite store of his daughters, and here is the ownerless stroller next to it. The man's consciousness seemed to be dimmed for a while. He ran to the carriage, snatched the baby out of it and ran away. The street was deserted, and therefore no one was outraged by the immoral behavior of a citizen in a gray cap.
Biryukov brought the baby to the doorway, where in a dark corner he began to undress the child. The monster was possessed by some kind of infernal sexual desire. He wanted to rape this little frail body right here and now … The kid started with a loud roar, which, of course, attracted the attention of people. Compassionate old women clicked the latches of the windows to see where it is so "tortured child." Biryukov snatched a knife from his pocket, with which he sharpened pencils at work, and hit the victim with force in the stomach. The blow nearly cut the child in half. The baby died immediately from the injury.
This failure only provoked the maniac. Over the course of three weeks, he tracked down several more mothers with strollers. He rubbed into their confidence, after which he abducted and killed their children. 3 out of 5 victims died from rape, receiving injuries incompatible with life. Despite the fact that Biryukov has been heterosexual since childhood, in his … uh … preferences he was not limited to girls only.

The news about the capital's antichrist maniac quickly spread among the townspeople. The Minister of Internal Affairs Shchelokov reported to Brezhnev personally about the search for the maniac; the police carried out extensive search activities, in particular, raids and mass checks. Such actions are one of the largest search operations in the history of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department.
