More than a hundred previously unknown rock paintings have been found on the slopes of the Shalabolinskaya scribble in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The finds are more than three thousand years old.

The discovery was made by an expedition of the Russian Geographical Society to save the Shalabolinskaya scribble from destruction. Scientists surveyed the slopes for about three kilometers. In total, about three hundred sites with rock paintings were described. Of these, about 30 were not previously known. The total number of images in newly discovered areas exceeds a hundred.

“Among the images of animals, people in boats, on horses, on skis, scenes of hunting, battle, cult rites, there are drawings of mythical predators. This is a collective image of animals with features of wolves, bears, panthers, wild boars. These stories began to appear around the second millennium BC, - says the head of the expedition, Alexander Zaika, in the TASS material.

In addition, there are images of peculiar masks. They generally have the appearance of a human face, but are equipped with various "ornaments" such as fangs and horns. Probably, these drawings are associated with the mythological ideas of primitive artists.

Images are made with ocher by embossing, engraving or wiping. Presumably, they belong to the Okunev culture that existed in these places in the second millennium BC. Representatives of this culture used bronze tools.
