During a visit to Sierra Leone in 1990, an unusual stone was found by the Italian geologist Angelo Pitoni. A mysterious artifact that has puzzled all who studied it.
It is said that the local "boss of Fula" gave it to the Pitoni, a blue stone with mysterious white lines on its surface. Back in Europe, Pitoni took the stone to the Institute of Natural Sciences of Geneva and then to La Sapienza University in Rome for further analysis.
To his surprise, tests showed it was not turquoise. Or something that could be officially identified. In addition, the blue stone does not match any known mineral. But the most intriguing is its color. Researchers still do not understand how the stone acquired or retained its color, although several universities and laboratories have analyzed the artifact. Its color remains a mystery.
At the University of Utrecht, the stone was tested several times using strong acids, but none of the acids could affect the stone.
It was even heated up to 3,000 degrees Celsius, but its composition was not changed. When a small piece of stone was crushed and viewed under a microscope, it lost its color.
Now known as the Heavenly Stone, according to analysis, a staggering 77.17% of the stone is somehow made from pure oxygenases. The remaining percentage was split between carbon, calcium, and another unknown element.
When the researchers crushed the sky stone and mixed it with acetone, hexane and methylene, then they intensified the ultrasonic extraction. They were eventually able to find an organic compound that is currently unknown to science.
