The first astral projection most often occurs during sleep. But after awakening, a person cannot always understand whether he really visited a parallel world or just watched a lucid dream. In order not to torment themselves with such doubts, many beginners prefer to try to enter the astral plane consciously, and not during sleep.

However, obstacles often appear on the path of novice researchers of the subtle worlds. The fact is that astral projection techniques can be very effective for some people, but practically useless for others. It is generally accepted that the reason for failure lies in the inability to thoroughly relax.

Just imagine - you have prepared for the astral projection, completed all the necessary exercises, and even began to feel the moment of transition to the astral plane (while someone feels a fall, others seem to be swinging on the waves). But here you are overwhelmed by joyful excitement, your breath catches, your heart begins to beat faster … And another attempt ends in failure.

Is there a way to keep yourself from being overly anxious when trying to astral projection? Of course, but for this you need to achieve deep relaxation. Fortunately, there is a special exercise you can use to do this.

Progressive relaxation technique

This technique was developed by Sylvan Muldon - the author of the book "Projection of the Astral Body". The essence of the technique is based on slowing down the pulse, which causes relaxation and increases the ability to concentrate thought.

Take a horizontal position, it is best to lie on your back, and stretch your arms along the body. If this position seems uncomfortable to you, then you can lie on your right side. Take a deep breath, and do not exhale for 2-3 seconds. Then exhale and repeat a deep breath 6..8 times. Your task now is to relax the solar plexus, the center of the human nervous system, to the maximum.

Now close your eyes and try to imagine your own image. Tighten for a moment and then relax the muscles of the face, eyebrows, cheeks. Then, turn your attention to the neck, tense and relax the corresponding muscles. Shift your focus to your shoulders, biceps, and hands. Clench your hands into fists, then relax your hands. Do this until you reach your feet.

When your muscles are extremely relaxed, you can move on to the main phase - focus on the heart. Try to recognize its beating, but do not strain or be discouraged if you cannot immediately achieve this. Just keep focusing on the chest area until you begin to pick up your heart rate.

It is interesting! While in a state of astral projection, people experience a slight pulsation localized in the back of the head. At this point, the astral cord is located, which connects the subtle and physical bodies. Pulsation occurs in the cord in time with the heartbeat.

Once you have acquired the ability to confidently feel your heartbeat, you can move on to the next exercise. Now you should focus on your neck and feel a pulsation that matches your heart rate. When you have achieved this, move on to the cheeks, then to the chest, calves, thighs and feet. At this stage, you have practically learned how to achieve deep relaxation, suitable for going into the astral plane.

Impact on the subconscious

Attention! The following exercise is contraindicated for people with heart disease!

You will now need to slow down your heart rate. Concentrate on your pulse, try to feel not only the beating of the heart, but also the pulsation throughout the body. Count your heart rate mentally for a few minutes. Then start counting a little slower than your heart rate. Continue the exercise until your heart rate “adjusts” to your slow count.

S. Muldon assures that after a few workouts you will be able to control your heart rate even without prior preparation and relaxation. To do this, it will be enough to say something like this to yourself: “heart, I want you to beat with a rhythm of 50 beats per minute”. Muldon does not recommend checking the pulse by a watch, as this can reduce the effectiveness of the suggestion.

By learning to slow down your heart rate, you can achieve a much deeper state of relaxation in literally minutes. This means that your exercises for going to the astral plane will become more effective.
