There are legends about three mystical continents that sank to the bottom of the ocean many centuries ago. This is Atlantis, located, according to some authors, in the Atlantic Ocean, Lemuria in the Indian Ocean and Pacifis in the Pacific. Until recently, the assumption of the existence of these continents, sunk in the waters of three oceans, and especially the Pacifida, was based only on ancient legends, and only recently material evidence of this appeared.
Travels of the stone colossi
Archipelagos and some separate islands remained from the Pacifida in the Pacific Ocean. One of the most mysterious pieces of land that has survived since then is Easter Island. It is even sometimes called the center of this mystical country. The solitude of the island, stone sculptures of a mysterious civilization preserved on it, strange phenomena occurring in its vicinity have not yet received an explanation. Until now, science does not know how these twenty-meter colossus were delivered from the quarries located in the depths of the island, on the coast. To all the questions of the scientists, the local residents answered: "They walked on their own." Did the colossus move under the influence of the powerful biofield of the people who once lived here! The current inhabitants of Easter Island have lost the ability to move objects in space without touching them,but the memory of their amazing ancestors has been kept for many millennia.

Obruchev wrote in 1956: “It can be argued that in the warm equatorial belt of the Earth, humanity had already reached a high cultural development at the time when both circumpolar regions were still covered with snow and glaciers. Beautiful temples were built for deities, pyramids as tombs for kings, and stone statues were erected on Easter Island to guard against some kind of enemies. And an interesting question arises: was the death of other cultures and their structures caused by some kind of catastrophe?"

Since the discovery of Easter Island by the Europeans, amazing phenomena have not ceased to occur around it. One of them is associated with the "disappearing" islands. Since 1802, the captains of many ships have written in their logs about the discovery of small islands near Easter. But time passed, and other ships, sailing on the same course, did not meet these islands - they disappeared without a trace. So, in 1912, the captain of the British ship "Glouelon" announced the discovery of a giant stone plateau with rocks near Easter Island, in which "windows" were cut. The ship, sent later to investigate the find, did not find the plateau. Some ufologists explain the disappearance of the islets, the remains of the sunken Pacifida, by moving to another dimension.
The final point in the question - is Easter Island a piece of a sunken continent and are underwater cities hiding in the ocean depths around it? - staged the research of the expedition of Jacques Yves Cousteau. In 1978, scientists discovered that there is a mountain range submerged in the sea around the island, and many of the underwater peaks have strange openings that resemble windows. Cousteau, who descended into a deep-sea depression, declared that he had discovered something like a huge underwater city. But he failed to explore the underwater city. Sunken city of ancient giants
Underwater structures off the Japanese Islands were found in 1985. This discovery was made by the researcher Masaaki Kimura. The scientist discovered traces of an ancient civilization almost at the doorstep of his own home. His attention was attracted by a strange pile of stones on the seabed off the coast of Yonaguni Island, located in southern Japan. Huge cobblestones with smooth edges resembled a man-made staircase. From a distance, the place looked like a stepped hill, reminiscent of the ancient Peruvian pyramid. This is in general. And if you look at the ruins in detail, then among them you can find both many places of worship and structures intended for high life - for example, a swimming pool.
According to the professor, these stones are nothing more than the remains of an ancient city that went under water as a result of a global cataclysm. All these ruins are traces of a lost civilization. The surviving Japanese myths tell of a sunken city that belonged to an ancient race of giants. As for the date of the death of civilization, Kimura still finds it difficult to draw a definite conclusion. According to the scientist, the city is from 3 to 10 thousand years old.
In addition to the stairs of the giants, the professor spoke about the discovery of the ruins of a castle, a temple, a huge theater, like the Roman Colosseum, a triumphal arch, even humanoid statues. The "Acropolis" of the sunken civilization was located in the center of an underwater city, the appearance of which was reminiscent of Ancient Rome. Tunnels, mines, canals were discovered in the underwater city. Kimura is convinced that the underwater city discovered near Yonaguni Island is of great importance in restoring the history of human development.
Near the Japanese islands
The most sensational results came from the search for the ancient sunken cities of the Pacific Ocean on the western coast of the Pacific Ocean. Here the underwater city was found by Robert Shof near the Japanese island of Monaguni. A stone head was also found there, similar to the images of the Incas on Lake Titicaca. This lake, according to geologists, was once an oceanic bay.
One of the most unexpected discoveries in the history of underwater archeology, associated with the Pacifida, was made in the summer of 2000 in the coastal waters of the island of Okinawa. Divers found eight well-preserved fragments of an ancient city on the seabed that stretched for 311 miles (about 530 km). Expanding their search, they found other structures nearby: long streets, majestic boulevards, grandiose staircases, giant stone blocks, immaculately fitted to each other. All this harmoniously merged into a single architectural ensemble, the likes of which they had never seen. Soon, articles appeared in the press that these majestic ruins were associated with a legendary country that died in the depths of the ocean.
In September of the same year, another giant pyramidal structure was discovered at a depth of 100 feet (30.48 meters) 300 miles south of Okinawa. It was part of a whole ceremonial center, which consisted of wide promenades and pylons. The colossal structure is 40 feet (about 12 meters) long.
