The train crash in Nevada, which killed 6 people, was a key sign for Eddie. He knelt down in front of Nancy and proposed to her. There were a lot of elderly people in the same carriage with them, when a truck crashed into the carriage and everything caught fire. 6 people died, but Eddie and Nancy managed to survive.
And even days earlier, they miraculously escaped from a tornado in Pennsylvania, survived an invasion of locusts and cicadas in Nashville and barely managed to escape a flash flood in Nebraska.

The couple met 7 years ago and the trip around the states was a gift for Nancy's 60th birthday.
