According to British scientists, they discovered the ruins of a castle, the owner of which could well have been the legendary King Arthur many centuries ago.
Archaeologists have been excavating in Cornwall, located in the southwest of the country. In the course of the work, they stumbled upon ruins that could be what remains of the refuge of the hero of the British epic of the early Middle Ages. The walls of the former castle, discovered in the area of the village of Tintagel, are about a meter thick. Stone slabs were also discovered, from which, presumably, the steps and floors in the castle were made. Scientists date the age of the finds to the 5th-6th century AD. And, as you know, the legendary leader of the Britons (or British) ruled just at this time.
Archaeologists reported that at the site of work they found evidence that aristocrats lived in the castle. The fact is that ceramics, glass and amphorae, in which wine and olive oil were once transported, confirm that the former owners of the castle were not in poverty at all.
At the same time, it should be noted that full evidence of the existence of the legendary knight has not yet been found. Scientists are still wondering whether Arthur really existed, or whether his image became a symbiosis of all kinds of myths and legends.
