The Department of Health of the US state of Oregon has announced the second death from an unknown disease among vapers. It is reported by CNN with reference to the press service of the department. “We do not yet know the exact cause of these diseases - whether they are caused by harmful fumes, ingredients in the liquid, or something else, such as the device itself,” said the division doctor. It is noted that those who contracted this ailment were hospitalized after the onset of symptoms such as a lingering cough, chest pain, diarrhea, fatigue, fever, or weight loss.
On September 4, it was reported that a complete ban on the use of flavored electronic cigarettes was decided to be introduced in the US state of Michigan. The first death from an electronic cigarette was recorded in Illinois on 23 August. In the US, cases of respiratory illness are currently being investigated, possibly associated with the use of e-cigarettes and vapes. As of August 27, a total of 215 cases were registered. However, the exact reason is still unknown.
