Residents of Gorodok in the Lviv region have been discussing this news for several days already: on the wall of the Church of St. Nicholas, the face of a miracle worker suddenly appeared! Moreover, it was on November 19 - exactly one month before the feast of St. Nicholas
Now there is a real place of pilgrimage
“After the service, a parishioner told me about the miraculous phenomenon,” says the rector of the church, Father Nazariy. - And indeed: on the wall between the two windows - exactly where the temple icon of Nicholas the Wonderworker should have hung! - the silhouette of the saint appeared. I examined his shoulder, head, and miter. At first it all looked like a wet spot (construction work is underway in our temple now), but when it dried up, the silhouette became even clearer. He is noticed by everyone who comes here.
The rumor of a miracle quickly spread around the area, and very soon people even from other regions began to come to the church - Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk … Now here is a real place of pilgrimage.
“We are awaiting the arrival of the commission from the Department of Religious Affairs,” Father Nazarius explained. - And if a miracle of healing happens, then this phenomenon can even be canonized.
The Church of St. Nicholas - once one of the most beautiful temples of wooden architecture in Gorodok - burned down in 1945. Only a large stone bell tower survived. They began to rebuild the church from scratch in 1996. And only this year the construction was finished and finishing works were started. The first service took place on November 11.
