In our time, it seems that every corner of the planet has been explored and populated by people. However, there are still places in hard-to-reach areas that can only be reached by air. Such areas are little explored and many of them are overgrown with mystical rumors based on unexplained phenomena occurring in these places.
One of these unexplored natural spots is the eerie and, nevertheless, beloved by tourists, the Valley of the Headless.
This eerie place is located in the north-west of Canada in the Nahanni Valley - an inaccessible, little-explored area, declared, however, in 1976 as a National Park (Nahanni National Park Reserve). Locals living in the nearby village of Tangsten believe that an ancient Evil lives in the gorge and talk about the local Naha tribe that mysteriously disappeared in this eerie place.
No traces were found at the site of their permanent camp. The tribe simply disappeared from the face of the Earth. From this event began a series of terrible and incomprehensible disappearances of people in the gorge of the Nahanni valley. The first missing are the two brothers Willie and Frank McLaoda, who arrived in the valley at the start of the Canada Gold Rush.
Events unfolded in 1906, when the brothers decided to reach the world famous Canadian Klondike through the Nahanni Valley. However, they never got to the gold mines. The brothers disappeared into the Nahanni Valley, a gorge called the Valley of the Headless by the local old-timers. Their skeletons were found by an expedition of prospectors in 1908. The found remains were decapitated.
Perhaps this terrible find would be included in one of the stories, of which there are many in the places of the mines and the version of the death of the McLaod brothers would sound something like this - the brothers found gold, they were robbed and beheaded. However, in 1917, a similar incident occurred with the lonely miner Martin Jorgensooma, who inadvertently made a halt in the Valley of the Headless. His body was found some time later. He was beheaded.
In 1945, the headless corpse of trapper John O'Brien was discovered, climbing into an eerie mystical valley in search of game. The man was lying near an extinct fire with matches clutched in his hand. A series of grisly disappearances followed by the discovery of decapitated corpses has attracted the attention of many researchers and scientists.

In 1978, a well-equipped expedition of six went to the Valley of the Headless to investigate the causes of the mysterious disappearances. They kept in touch through a guide. In the middle of the night, the conductor heard their shouts over the radio: “Emptiness comes out of the rock! She's coming at us! It's horrible!.
The rescue helicopter, raised in the air at the alarm signal of the conductor, headed towards the stop of the expedition. However, neither any things, nor the researchers themselves were found. The last officially recorded disappearance of people occurred in 1990. In the Valley of the Headless, three students left their heads in the literal sense of the word, who went to the infamous Nahanni Gorge in order to unravel the mystical mystery of this terrible place. Some consider the beheading of travelers to be the pranks of the sasquatch, as the local tribes of the Bigfoot Indians are called.
They claim that their hunters have repeatedly seen footprints left by the sasquatch. Moreover, in 2000, members of a mountaineering group claimed that they saw with their own eyes a large humanoid creature, overgrown with wool and moving on short legs. A sharp unpleasant smell emanated from it, and its weight was, according to eyewitnesses, about three hundred kilograms.
There are many rumors and theories associated with the eerie Valley of the Headless: some believed that gold prospectors were killed by competing prospectors, and for added fear, corpses were decapitated. There were also those who did not believe in the mysticism of the gorge and believed that the grizzly bears were to blame for everything. Local old-timers are sure that Evil itself lives in the gorge of the Nahanni Valley and that the entrance to the "emptiness of the Earth" begins.
In addition, many researchers adhere to the Bigfoot theory, especially since there are eyewitnesses who have seen in this terrible area unknown creatures similar to humans, overgrown with wool and running on short legs. Some believe that the Naha tribe did not disappear, but settled in the Nahanni Valley, and it was with their suggestion that this area began to be called the eerie Valley of the Headless.
The followers of the Naha theory believe that tribal members jealously guard the approaches to their new habitat, and the decapitation of imprudent travelers is a common tribute to tradition.
However, despite the abundance of such variegated rumors, no one has yet been able to find out the real reason for the beheading of travelers in the Nahanni Valley. The mystery of the Valley of the Headless remains unsolved.
