Indeed, all the horror stories about the Yellowstone supervolcano have somehow subsided since last year, especially in the midst of the election campaign in the United States, no one even paid attention to rumors of an impending disaster. And now they started talking about it again, both scientists and ordinary Americans.
The fact is that in recent days a series of serious earthquakes have passed across North America - from Georgia to Alaska itself. Some seismologists associate this with the awakening Yellowstone volcano, which in this way prepares a mega-earthquake in the area of the New Madrid fault. Other scientists believe that the cause of seismic activity in the United States is completely different, but these tremors could trigger the awakening of the supervolcano. This is what frightens everyone, because no matter how row, everything goes sideways for the United States.
Only the day before yesterday, within half a day, seismologists counted eleven shocks that shook the volcano. Overall, there have been four earthquakes in the New Madrid Fault area in recent days, and a wave of tremors has been observed from east to west across North America.
And although the US authorities are trying to hide all this, and the media diligently bypass this topic, it is difficult to hide an awl in a sack, so the inhabitants of the United States are now in a state of unceasing fear, and especially those who have already experienced the recent tremors.
American scientists, as always, shrug their shoulders. They are unable to give a clear explanation of the seismic wave that swept across the country. At the same time, seismologists do not exclude that all these are harbingers of the awakening of a supervolcano.
