An eyewitness with the initials JK says he now lives in North Dakota, where he and his wife moved from Ontario (Canada) shortly after they saw a strange creature in 2011.
“In July 2011, my wife and I were on a summer vacation at a friend's remote forest hut about 15 kilometers north of Manitou Falls.
We sat on the porch that evening and enjoyed the good weather. Above the porch were two lamps that well illuminated the area in front of the hut. I spent many years in these forests and knew a lot about the animals that lived here.
We talked for a long time, and in the meantime it was midnight and then I noticed an oddity with forest sounds. At first glance, everything seemed as usual, but clearly there was something wrong, all the sounds were muffled and it alarmed me. Sometimes, when the lynx goes hunting, all the birds and small animals hide and become silent, it was something like that.
I decided to be on my guard, suddenly there really is a predator very close, but my wife said that we had better go to bed, especially since it was already late. I agreed, we went to the hut and lay in bed, the clock was about 1.30. But after an hour my wife started shaking me and woke me up.
My wife looked frightened and she told me that there was some creature, an owl or a lynx, out there, very close to the hut, and it was making a very strange cry, which my wife had never heard in the woods. The scream, she said, resembled the scream of a woman.
I got up, went to the window and immediately heard this cry myself. He was coming from somewhere above and for the first time I also heard any creature screaming like that.

Alarmed, my wife and I stood near the window and peered towards the forest, but ten minutes later we heard a noise very close to our porch. Something climbed onto the canopy above the porch and you could hear it scratching the tree and making a sound, as if jumping over this canopy.
The sound was strong, as if a large animal was making it, and then I thought that it might even break through the canopy. We tried to peer through the window in that direction, and then suddenly from the porch towards the forest something elongated like a dark gray rocket flew at high speed. The creature had wings, and it itself was very large. And it was definitely not an ordinary bat.
The creature did not flap its wings, but hovered in the air, spreading its wings as wide as possible and occasionally making a smooth flap. Soon it disappeared in the darkness of the forest. Only then did we both move away from the shock and finally exhale. It was the most incredible creature that we have seen in life.
Subsequently, I tried for a long time to logically explain what I saw, but this creature did not look like any of the animals living in these forests. It was large, but mainly because of its huge wings, the very same body was very thin and its arms and legs were thin as sticks. But in structure, this body was very similar to the human body.
Unfortunately, none of us could see the creature's head, because it was small and barely noticeable. Overall, the creature's body was about 4 feet long (1.2 meters), and its irregular wingspan was at least 15 feet (4.5 meters).
A few days later, my friend came to us, who had lived in this hut longer than we did, and I asked him if he had seen something remarkable and unusual in these parts. He could only tell about the case when a badger climbed into the hut. I decided not to tell him anything about the strange creature.
We did not see this creature again and did not hear its frightening screams, but I am sure that my wife and I did not dream about it and the creature was made of flesh and blood. But where did it come from and where did it go, I don’t know, maybe it went into its own reality”.
