Decoding
One of the eight "patterns" found in the fields of Great Britain has already gained global fame. It originated 130 kilometers from London, in Wiltshire, in the town of Barbury Castle. Astrophysicist from North Carolina (USA) Michael Reid, having seen the "pattern", determined that the number "pi" is encrypted in its elements, and up to the ninth digit!
Michael conditionally divided the circle into 10 sectors and found that after the arc, indicated by the number 3, there is a "point", and the arc itself covers three sectors. So, you can write: 3 with a comma (3). The next segment of the arc, indicated by the number 1, occupies one sector, therefore, we write 3.1, after which we cover the arc occupying four sectors. We write 3.14. and this is already a number used in simple approximate calculations!
Behind the arc of four sectors there was an arc in one sector, then in five, nine, two, and so on. The result was the number З141592654 - the number "Pi" up to the ninth digit!

Real pictograms, as pictures with many elements are now called, appear suddenly and become a complete surprise and a nuisance for local farmers. After all, each circle is a loss of crops and an invasion of the curious, trampling the crops!

Some eyewitnesses saw red balls descending from the sky, others - bright white rays. Dutchmen Nancy Talbot and Robert van der Brock said that in December 2001, at about three o'clock in the morning, they observed the appearance of three dazzling columns, which shone for three seconds. And the next morning they found circles on the field!
Professionals against pranksters
Lucy Pringle, who heads Britain's Crop Circle Research Center, does not accept the idea of pranksters. She takes pictures of the pictures in person and emphasizes that they began to look intricate long ago - long before the advent of sophisticated computer graphics. Lucy agrees that it is possible to trample with a log and rope something entertaining. She even took part in one of these experiments, organized by the Air Force Corporation. But not too complicated art on the field required the participation of ten people and time from morning to evening. And the pictograms, as already mentioned, appear suddenly.
