Strange murders, suicides or deadly events are our reality. Meanwhile, among such events there are such that they can only be called paranormal. One such case is the story of a young Italian girl who is possessed by the spirit of a stranger.

The story of Maria Talarico

This happened on February 12, 1936. A local resident was found dead under the Morandi Bridge in Catanzaro, Italy. The deceased's name was Giuseppe Veraldi, he was 23 years old. It was clear to the naked eye that the unfortunate man had fallen from the bridge. The investigation did not last long, the police said that Señor Veraldi committed suicide by jumping from a bridge. But the relatives insisted on their version - they were sure that the man was killed. They argued that Pepe had no reason to commit suicide and that he was definitely pushed off that bridge. And yet, the police closed the case.

Exactly three years later, in the last days of January 1939, fourteen-year-old Maria Talarico was walking across the same bridge. At one point she felt a strong desire to go to one place on that bridge, to the very one from which Señor Veraldi fell three years ago. Maria felt dizzy and fell down. One driver stumbled upon the unconscious girl, brought her to her senses and took her home. At home, Maria slept for almost a day. And when she woke up, completely inexplicable events began.

Maria began to speak in a low voice, moreover, she shouted at her parents and asked to call herself not Maria, but Giuseppe. Moreover, she asked her parents to bring her cigarettes and something from strong drinks. The girl never smoked, much less drank. The atmosphere in the house tensed as Maria threw tantrums, demanding smoke and alcohol. It took his parents several days to find out who Giuseppe Veraldi was, and they found his mother, Catarina.

As soon as Katarina began to communicate with Maria, she immediately declared - this is her son. Moreover, Katerina asked Maria to write something on paper, and the woman recognized her son's handwriting. Things got even more complicated when "Pepe" said he didn't kill himself, but was attacked by his friends and thrown from the bridge down. After that conversation with Katarina "Pepe" ran from the house to the bridge, to the very place, and fainted. Waking up, it was already Maria, who did not remember anything.

This event puzzled everyone around, two families gossiped about whether it was true that the spirit of a murdered man was in Mary's body or the girl was just delirious, or even joking. Time passed, and everyone forgot about this case.

Eight years passed, and in 1947 Catarina Veraldi received a letter. It was a letter from South America from Luigi Marete, who was once friends with Giuseppe. In a letter, Luigi confessed to killing his friend because of jealousy of one girl, he described in detail how, with one friend, he lured Pepe to the bridge and threw him down.

Catarina tried to find Luigi, but it turned out that he had recently died, and relatives found that letter among the belongings of the deceased, it was written there that the letter should be sent to such and such an address, Señora Catarina Veraldi. By the way, Luigi bequeathed his entire fortune to Katarina, as compensation for the murder of her son. The Catanzaro police considered the letter to be real, once again conducted an investigation and arrested Luigi's accomplice, the court found him guilty.

And Maria lived a very ordinary life, nothing unusual happened to her again. And yet, this story has enough questions. Maria never knew the Veraldi family, why was she chosen by the spirit of Pepe? What happened to Mary's soul in those few days while another spirit was in her body? And why did Maria get rid of Veraldi's spirit so easily?
