“It happened in the fall of 2006, when I was still a child, near my home in rural Ohio.
Quite dense forests begin right from home, and as a child I was especially keen on exploring them. This was my favorite place to play.
Before the incident, I often wandered through the woods alone, with my mother's permission, of course. In particular, there was one big tree and I really enjoyed climbing on its lower heavy branches and just sitting there, relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature.
The tree was quite tall and, having climbed higher, one could even see the back of my house from it.
That day, after walking, I again climbed my favorite tree. It was late October and the sun had already begun to set.
It was a little sad to see how quickly it gets dark, so I decided to go downstairs and go home. And then I heard the voice of my mother, who was calling me by name.
Mom often called me from home when I was late, so I thought that this time she did the same.

But when I came down from the tree and again heard her voice, I realized that for some reason he was coming not from the house, but from the very thicket of the forest. And my mother never went to the woods, for her it was like a taboo. So I realized that something was wrong.
I continued to hear her voice, she still urged me. But now I already understood and sensed the danger. And I felt that my mother's voice was very angry and somehow insane. It was like she thought I was in trouble and was very angry.
And then it seemed to me that her voice became closer and now he was already very close. But I could not see anything in the thickets, no matter how hard I tried. And I have not seen anything unusual.
And then I again heard my mother's voice, this time calm and he walked as expected, from my house. And as if it was echoed by that angry voice of my mother from the thicket of the forest, but it was not an echo.
From the quickly running fear, my legs went limp and I did not understand what was happening. "Come here immediately!", - again shouted an angry mother's voice and he was very close. Something was coming!
This cry seemed to give me strength and I ran to the exit from the forest. It’s even amazing how I didn’t stumble over branches and driftwood when I was running. And while I was running, that angry mother's voice continued to call me insistently, including my name.
Finally I ran out to the house and at the same moment the voice behind me disappeared. And I apparently looked so scared that my mother, meeting me at the house, immediately asked what had happened. I didn’t tell her about the incident, but asked if she had gone out into the forest to look for me. She was surprised and said "Of course not."
Then I also asked her if she had heard any extraneous screams. And she also said no.
Since then, this incident in the forest constantly hangs in my head. I try to figure out what it was and think about possible and impossible options. This was definitely not a joke from my mother, she never arranged anything like this. She never joked at all.
I also doubt it was a prank from the neighbors or anyone else, our closest neighbors lived a mile away and I never met them personally.
Later we moved to another place and sometimes I discuss this case with my mother. She still says that she did not hear any voices in the forest that time. And I'm still worried that I used to walk in this forest and this did not happen to me. Maybe a demon or some spirit was trying to attack me?"
