A 31-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with a heart attack after being exposed to holy water during a procedure to exorcise demons and evil spirits.

To save the woman from the "biting" demon, the exorcist priest, as prescribed by the rite, sprinkled the 31-year-old woman possessed with holy water. The woman reacted to this in an extremely unusual way - her breathing stopped and her heart stopped. These events took place in the town of Riverton, Wisconsin.

An ambulance team from Fremont County Hospital went to the scene. On a call to the emergency dispatch center, the caller reported that the woman "possessed by a demon" became ill while performing the exorcism. The caller claimed that her pulse could not be felt. However, when the doctors and police arrived at the scene, the woman was already breathing.

The priest performing the exorcism told the police that the demon possessed woman broke almost all the windows and all utensils in the house, and also bit everyone living at home. She did all this in just two days. However, police officers who visited the scene indicated in their report that they could not find evidence of criminal activity or something supernatural. The police also believe that none of the inhabitants of the house was bitten.

The woman was taken to the nearest hospital and was in a stable condition the very next day. This time everything ended well, however, for the allegedly possessed, such rituals do not always end so well.

Earlier this month, a Virginia man was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for killing his 2-year-old daughter during an exorcism. He told the police that a demon had entered his body, forcing him to beat his daughter over and over again as he tried to exorcise the devil from her.

In March 2012, a London couple were convicted of the murder of a 15-year-old boy whom they accused of using witchcraft. The teenager drowned on Christmas Day in 2010 while the couple tried to exorcise the demon from him by dipping in a bathtub.

In 2005, a 23-year-old Romanian nun died of suffocation and dehydration when a priest tied her to a cross and gagged her with a towel. The priest was trying to drive away the devil when the woman said that she heard Satan say that she was "drowning in sin."
