To the north of Tver, between the villages of Tukhani, Soboliny and Sosnovets, there is the so-called Sandovsky Triangle, known for the unpredictability of local time.
According to the researcher of the anomaly, Valentina Zemlyanoy, “when we entered the zone, one of our comrades discovered that his clock had stopped. They began to check, and it turned out that the clocks stopped simultaneously for all members of the expedition. However, the most striking thing came to light later.
When the group, which included Valentina, ended up in Tukhani, they first of all found out the time from the local residents. And having looked at his wristwatch, we were amazed to find that it was running absolutely correctly, as if it had never stopped. They were again in Moscow time.
Geophysicists who came to Tukhani were told about this phenomenon. They became interested and went to the anomalous zone with the Pine radiometric device, which measures the level of radiation and the presence of magnetic fields. However, as soon as the specialists entered the mysterious zone, the device turned off, and they could not do anything with it.
Scientists believe that there is a magnetic anomaly in this place that affects devices and people. However, this behavior of the watch remains a mystery. Let's say, for some reason, they cannot work in this zone. But what mechanism makes them restore normal time? Perhaps the chronometers speed up on the border of the anomalous zone, but how does this happen with such high accuracy? At the same time, people do not notice anything.
Something similar is observed in the Verkhovazhsky district of the Arkhangelsk region. In the archives for June 30, 1912, it is said that members of a scientific expedition led by the scientist of the Imperial Academy of Sciences Alexander Loidis, which investigated the magnetic field in the area, had all clocks simultaneously malfunctioning.
The behavior of time measurement tools is even more mysterious these days. After five hours, tested by a team of researchers in the area, the quartz watch ran forward two minutes, the mechanical one fell behind by five minutes, and the electronic one completely deteriorated. Even the next day they were not reanimated by a new battery. The center of the supposed anomalous zone is a small forest on the banks of the Vaga, about 1.5 km from Chushevitsy.
In the village of Morozovo, located 28 km from Verkhovazhye, strange stories have happened for a long time. At the beginning of the XX century. Land surveyor Mack, who was instructed to split a section of the forest into regular squares for summer cottages, abandoned the work he had begun - the compass was shamelessly lying. After Mack there were several clearings, intersecting at sharp angles.

Later, road foreman Nikolai Plotnikov, with the help of a compass, made a direct kilometer marking. When the foresters cut down the clearing, it turned out that it bends to the right. Subsequent investigations revealed that even a few kilometers from this place, the magnetic compass needle deviates from the real azimuth by 8 °.
In the 90s of the last century, St. Petersburg geophysicists recorded a geomagnetic anomaly in the vicinity of the Verkhovazhye. According to one of the hypotheses, solid deposits of iron ores became the cause of its occurrence. Perhaps because of this, in 1944, five military aircraft made an emergency landing here. The pilots completely lost their orientation, as they simultaneously failed all navigation devices. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
According to the specialists of the Vologda aviation enterprise, no unusual phenomena were noticed over the Verkhovazhsky region. Nevertheless, the anomalous zone is still marked on the flight charts.
