Some people believe that our planet is something like a huge plate of frisbee, i.e. it is flat. And no matter how scientists try to explain to them about the force of gravity, which will not work on a flat planet, they do not allow themselves to be "deceived" and declare that gravity is another NASA myth.
Can people really believe that the Earth is flat? Maybe they occupy their brains with the non-obvious, so as not to notice the obvious - for example, a significant decrease in the quality of life.
But, most likely, for them, this is a new way to explain an extremely complex world.
It is curious what they think or say about who benefits from hiding that the Earth is flat, and why should it be done at all?
Victory for the truth
Although the Flat Earth Society is not very large, they fiercely defend their beliefs and spread them on the Internet.
They declare that the realm of error and confusion has come to an end and see it as their mission to reveal the truth to the fooled masses.

They are not embarrassed by the testimony of those who flew into space, because all astronauts are agents of NASA and participate in the conspiracy. They declare that no one has ever flown into space or been involved in space research. Strengthening space power is "flexing muscles" to ostracize enemies.
Although at present, the conspiracy is most likely motivated by greed rather than political motives. The government of the States alone allocates billions of dollars annually for space exploration. Here NASA with enviable persistence and tries to imitate scientific activity, spending the state budget. Part of the money goes to bribe the same astronauts and all sorts of machinations.
Conspiracy theory
Followers of the flat-earth theory are suspicious of the fact that after the tragic disaster of Apollo 1, NASA has followed the path of progress in organizing space flights. They would assume that success is related to scientific innovation and technical improvement, but they say NASA is bluffing and only pretending that everything is going well.
Members of another flat-earth group cite the following reasons why we are being lied to about the shape of our planet: 1) it is beneficial for someone to promote an idea accepted by governments, space agencies and science in general, 2) someone wants to “hide the truth, which is written in the Bible”and 3) about the real resources of Antarctica, which is guarded by a giant ice wall, cannot be told to the uninitiated part of humanity.
Ultimately, they believe that "without exposing a conspiracy to hide knowledge from others," there is no real way of knowing why we are being lied to so hard.
Different groups of flat earth believers may have different belief systems, and each of them may put forward their explanations and argue with each other.
These contradictions were clearly evident at the first International Conference in Support of the Flat Earth Theory back in 2017. As the journalists attending the conference noted, it is common for all people to feel distrust of the government, but among the adherents of the theory, the degree of distrust is certainly extreme.
Masons, Illuminati, Zionists, the Vatican and NASA, of course, were mentioned as the main conspirators-deceivers.
Thus, flat-earthers believe that the global lie about the shape of the Earth is motivated by greed, money, and power; and that the "truth" is deliberately concealed from ordinary people.
