Paul Johnson did not immediately believe his neighbors' remark that in the house in which he was going to rent an apartment in San Diego, they, to put it mildly, do not live alone.
Paul Johnson describes his stay in this not quite “normal” place this way: “In 2005, I decided to rent a room in a two-story house. My two cousins from Palm Springs were supposed to live there with me. I must say that on weekends the house was at my complete disposal, as Josh and Jacob often went to their parents. On the night of the move, Josh gave me this line: “I don't want to scare you, but please don't go downstairs at night. Someone is there. I laughed out loud in response, because I never believed in such things.
After about a month of living in this house, I somehow threw a party and decided to prepare for it accordingly. Looking at myself while standing in front of the mirror, I heard my neighbors climbing the stairs. I shouted: "Hey guys, I'm here!" But the answer was silence. It offended me. Ten minutes later I finished packing and went outside, but my neighbors' car was not in the driveway. I picked up the phone and decided to dial Josh and Jacob to ask why they left so quickly. In response, I heard "Paul, we left for our parents yesterday …".
Needless to say, of course, that evening I no longer stayed in that house.
