Despite the fact that recently the topic of UFOs has become more and more common and does not cause such a resonance as in previous decades, nevertheless, some of the incidents reported today deserve close attention.
It is worth paying attention to the event that occurred on December 12, 2016, when the captain and navigator of a Boeing 737 cargo plane announced a green UFO that took off over the cockpit of their plane, and then raced down past it at high speed. It happened near Cape Town over the coast of South Africa.
And this incident is very similar to the incident that took place over two decades ago over Long Island. Crews of two different aircraft witnessed the appearance of a strange bright green object.
On the night of November 17, 1995, Lufthansa Flight 405 and British Airways Flight 226 met with an unidentified object flying between them. Lufthansa crew first noticed the object at 10:20 pm.
"A greenish rocket rocket flew 900 meters above and to the left of the plane," the pilots described the UFO that appeared, claiming that the object did not look like a meteorite, as it moved strictly along a horizontal trajectory until it disappeared from the field of view.
The possibility was considered that the object could be some kind of military aircraft, but the object's appearance was located much further north of the airspace used for military operations.
Oddly enough, this UFO was detected on radar at the Air Traffic Control Center in Nashua, which is located in the northeastern United States in the state of New Hampshire.
A November 17, 1995 transcript, after contacting the crews of two commercial jets, one from John F Kennedy International Airport and the other from Boston, refers to "a large, bright white, luminous object with a greenish tail at the back."

British Airways Flight 226: "He was on top, then he was thrown to the left … The light ahead is very, very bright … It passed us, then disappeared and appeared 8 km behind us."
Lufthansa Flight 405: “It went quite close, 900 meters above the left wing, just a couple of kilometers from us in the opposite direction … It has no backlighting, red or green flashing lights. Only white light in front and a long green tail. It looks like a UFO."
It is worth noting that in the future, the same mysterious object appeared in the immediate vicinity of the Boeing 747 crash site near New York, which occurred on July 17 of the following year.
So what was the object observed by the crews of Lufthansa and British Airlines in 1995, and does it resemble the object that pilots have seen over Cape Town, South Africa in recent days? This is the question.
