The temple of the Aztec god of the wind, Eacatl-Quetzacoatl, was found by archaeologists in Mexico. Scientists believe that the structure is 600 years old and was found in the place where a supermarket used to be.

This became known thanks to a publication in the Daily Mail. According to the excavation coordinator, Pedro Francisco Sánchez Nava, the store was demolished after archaeologists found a piece of pottery and several graves. The temple of the Aztec god, eleven meters in diameter, was at a depth of three meters. Traces were also found in the building, indicating that a sacrifice took place in it: bird bones, animal figurines, the remains of a baby.

In total, scientists have found 43 thousand artifacts, a thousand of which were in their original form. The temple was located on the territory of the city of Tlatelolko. Thanks to the discovery of an ancient temple in it, one can conclude about the prevalence of cults in the ancient world. Now these cities are captured by the capital of Mexico - Mexico City.
