In April 1973, the famous French writer and explorer Robert Sharrou traveled through the ancient land of Peru. Naturally, he can't help but turn into the famous Nazca Valley to look at the mysterious lines, long ago and without hesitation recognized by the supporters of "fantastic archeology" as special landing signs for spaceships of aliens from outer space.

Here Sharru met a surgeon from the small Peruvian town of Iki, located 150 kilometers from the famous valley.

Doctor Cabrera, whose ancestor, by the way, founded the city of Iki, told Sharru that for a long time the locals have been digging out some black oval stones from the ground, on which, if they are cleaned of dust, simply amazing drawings appear. Locals willingly sell them to tourists literally for next to nothing.

“Despite the fact that Dr. Cabrera warned me,” Sharru recalls, “nevertheless, upon entering this room, I was shocked to the core. I had to see many rock paintings, participate in archaeological excavations, study the monuments of disappeared civilizations. But what I saw this time far surpassed everything … On the floor, on wooden shelves that rose to the very ceiling, stones lay everywhere. Hundreds, thousands of stones of different sizes. Cabrera was not wrong. On each of these stones one could clearly distinguish finely executed drawings depicting scenes of hunting prehistoric animals, maps of disappeared Continents, surgical operations …"

Cabrera began collecting and collecting mysterious stones in 1960, and his collection is now the largest in the country - 12 thousand, as he noted, "priceless works of ancient art." True, the collection of the local Museum of the city of Iki competes with his collection - several thousand "black stones" are also kept here. A dozen of them, the most impressive, were brought to Paris by Robert Charroux for demonstration to scientists …

Unlike other amateurs, the doctor told the visiting Frenchman how the decision came to him to study them. And what he made out in thin, scratched drawings, he was simply shocked. Thousands of stones “depicted in detail, to the smallest detail, animals that disappeared from the face of the Earth millions of years ago: dinosaurs, brontosaurs, scenes of hunting for the“monsters from the Mesozoic”that disappeared 70 million years ago.

Experts, whom Sharru brought to Iki to get acquainted with the finds on the spot, came to the following conclusion: “The huge amount of stones - 12 thousand at Cabrera and several thousand in the Ica Museum - exclude the possibility of forgery. There is no doubt about the original origin of these drawings."

But this is not the most interesting thing that the commission members who visited Peru in March 1974 saw. "Monsters from Ica" was a graphic representation of "monsters" from the Mexican city of Acambro.

Let's make a small digression. At one time, the discovery in the Mexican city of Acambro caused a sensation. There they talked about dinosaurs - contemporaries of "Homo sapiens", whose images were made in clay.

Let's return to Dr. Cabrera, who, having studied the drawings, came to the conclusion: the axes and knives of the "dinosaur hunters" depicted on the "black stones" from Ica were made of … metal. In addition, "on some stones" there were even stranger drawings, depicting people carefully examining the starry sky through a telescope, in which Dr. Cabrera clearly distinguished a comet and a star of the first magnitude."

Further. “Two huge stones weighing more than 100 kilograms depicted an ocean surrounded by high mountains. Here it was possible to discern the outlines of continents, images of people and animals. The outlines of the continents differ sharply from the modern ones."

Other pictures showed scenes of a wide variety of surgical procedures in detail. In one of them, Cabrera even saw "a complex operation using anesthesia." And Sharru himself "distinctly discerned finely executed drawings depicting scenes of hunting for prehistoric animals, maps of disappeared continents, and the most complex surgical operations."

How can you explain the fact that all the stones were found in this remote area, lost in the Andes, and especially where the engraved drawings on them came from, so ancient in their origin and so modern in their content?

The Ica stones pose many questions for us, and in order to answer them, international expeditions are needed, which must organize a search for new stones, study and publish all the drawings.

To explain the "phenomenon" of stones from Ica, Robert Charroux puts forward the following hypothesis: the age of the stones is several million years, perhaps 70 million. The history of mankind, in his opinion, also has several million years, that is, "homo sapiens" appeared on Earth much earlier than it is commonly believed.

The drawings on these stones, according to Sharru, "were made at least 10 or 50 thousand years ago." They prove that historians are either wrong, and prehistoric animals existed in South America relatively recently, or representatives of this extinct civilization were able to somehow preserve the images of animals that their ancestors encountered.

And the huge number of monuments concentrated in a small area in the mountains, according to Sharru, clearly indicates their deliberate concentration in this place.

Thus, concludes Sharru, "these stones are … traces of a highly developed civilization, whose representatives wanted to pass on to their descendants a part of their knowledge in anticipation of a grand cataclysm."

Cabrera believes that this highly developed civilization was created by one of the branches of humanity - the Neanderthal. But since no traces of a Neanderthal man have been found in America, the doctor's opponents declared his findings to be falsification.

At one time, several "black stones" were brought to the Institute of Archeology in Moscow. Expert S. Potashnikov came to the conclusion: "The results of the study give reason to believe that all these drawings were applied to the stone with the help of technical means."

Many experts spoke out carefully, they say, those stones on which ordinary animals and plants, stars, the Sun and the Moon are depicted are real, and those on which you can see lizards and incredible scenes are fake.

Cabrera sent several stones to the Mauricio Hochschild mining company and the Institute of Technology for examination. Dr. E. Wolff, in his report on the analysis, wrote: “I can confirm that these stones are covered with a patina, a thin natural oxidation film that is also found in the grooves of the engravings. This circumstance allows us to speak about their antiquity."

In addition, it turned out that as early as 1926, the Jesuit Pedro Simon in his book "Historical Notes" mentioned the Ica stones as objects that have long been known to archaeologists of his time. That is, they were known for a long time, but for some reason no one paid attention to them, to their unusualness.

One way or another, the problem exists. And so far not a single special commission has been created that would accurately establish the place of origin of the stones and carefully study the drawings on them. Thus, the veracity or falsification of Ica's "black stones" is not yet definitively proven.
