Initially, the media wrote about the deliberate self-immolation of a pensioner in protest against non-payment of pension. But then other information began to arrive and the version of self-arson was questioned.

The Office of the Federal Postal Service of the Kaluga Region reports that this man did not receive payments through the mail. Before the incident, he did not contact the postal operators.

According to eyewitnesses, the man did not shout anything, did not pour any liquid on himself. Investigators removed fire debris from the scene, and a fire-technical study will help to find out the causes of the fire.
