A perfectly round ice disc appeared on the Estonian river Vigala. The diameter of the disc reaches 24 meters. It should be noted that a rotating ice wheel appears in Raplamaa on the Vigala River at intervals of several years. Such ice circles usually form in frosty weather on rivers with a slow flow and a certain bend in the channel. Due to the vortex current, a piece of ice cover on the river begins to rotate, and its edges gradually grind against the surrounding ice.

The result is a perfectly flat flat disc with a diameter of several to tens of meters, on which some daredevils even ride like on a carousel. At the end of December last year, a similar rare natural phenomenon was noticed in the Belarusian town of Chausy on the Basya River. And recently a naturally formed ice disk appeared on the Presampskot River (Maine, USA).

Such ice discs, also known as ice circles, have been spotted many times in winter on rivers in Russia, Ukraine, Canada, USA, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Germany, Great Britain and other countries. In the old days, people took an unusual natural phenomenon for the tricks of unclean forces and avoided places with these circles until the ice melted.
