There are many religions in the world. The main part of them is based on a familiar and largely general concept: the existence of an omniscient supreme deity, through whose efforts our native Earth was created. But there are those whose leaders quite seriously assume the existence of entire divine civilizations - they supposedly created people in their own image and likeness, and very soon they will come down to us on their magic spaceships in order to lead us to a better life. Here are a few similar religions that seem strange to us personally (to put it mildly).
Society of Aetherius
This religion originated in Great Britain. Its members mix yoga, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity. The Society of Aetherius was founded by former taxi driver George King, who suddenly saw the space masters among the greasy armrests of his native cab. The Society's followers believe that people are able to stop any tragedy with prayers that fill psychic batteries. Religion also teaches not to worry too much, but simply to wait for the arrival of the spiritual leader Aetherius - this comrade is expected from heaven on his own starship.
Fiat Lax
Uriela, otherwise known as a native of Erica Bertschinger, received a message from Jesus and Mary: the girl was instructed to gather good neighbors and go to create a commune in the Black Forest. The company really got together quickly: the guys live in Germany and pray peacefully until good aliens come down from the sky to take them to the planet Amora.

Unarians
The Unarius Academy of Science was founded in Los Angeles by a certain Ernst Norman, a graphomaniac and, concurrently, an apologist for a new alien teaching. His books tell about how exactly space was colonized, why the Chinese are the descendants of interstellar travelers and who will be waiting for us on Mars.
Nation of Islam
Elijah Muhammad claims that the Wheel of Ezekiel mentioned in the Book of Ezekiel is nothing more than a real UFO. The Prophet gives strong (for his flock) evidence that the Wheel was built in Japan, for $ 15 billion. And the project was granted to the Japanese by aliens who will soon arrive on Earth and save all the faithful.
Raelism
The Raelians believe that there is a race of aliens called the Elohim who created life on Earth through sophisticated scientific research. Buddhas, Jesus and Muhammad are only the messengers of Elohim. In addition, these guys welcome the cloning of people, believing that only in this way will we get closer to eternal life.
People of the universe
In 2007, the leader of the previously unknown religious community Universe People sent a detailed plan to the Czech Ministry of Defense on how exactly to resist the imminent invasion of alien lizards on Earth. Ivo Benda instantly became famous, which only benefited the "People of the Universe". He loudly declared about the alien nature of Jesus Christ, thanks to which he was registered in a psychiatric clinic. However, this did not interfere with the prosperity of the community.
Scientology
The army of many thousands of Scientology adherents is not at all embarrassed by the fact that the church was founded by a real science fiction writer. You may even remember the movie "Battlefield Earth", which was also scripted by Ron Hubbard. According to the Teachings of Scientology, each person has already existed for many past lives, and actions and problems in the past have led to our current suffering. When we die, we travel to Venus, where our souls are reloaded into cloned bodies. Surprisingly, Scientology has a ton of famous adherents - Tom Cruise, for example.
Nazi Temples
Some particularly gifted nationalists believe that the Aryan race is descended from the people of Atlantis, the legendary lost city of advanced technology, inhabited by ideal people. Representatives of this quasi-verse are distributing leaflets according to which Jesus flew to us from Aldebaran and became the embodiment of evil. They also believe that the flying saucers of the German fascist army are still waiting for their faithful sons in the ice of Antarctica and will soon take us all to the promised worlds.
Order of the Sun Temple
This secret society was formed in 1984. Inspired in part by Aleister Crowley's teachings, the Order's followers also await the Second Coming from the stars.
Gate of Heaven
Marshal Applewhite and his wife believed that their marriage was initiated by aliens - moreover, Marshal himself was the reincarnation of Jesus. But the long-awaited spaceship of the ancestors did not arrive and the leaders decided to go to heaven on their own. In 1997, a group of 39 people gathered in an abandoned mansion and treated themselves to a punch of an amusing recipe: two parts of vodka, one part of apple juice and another part of rat poison. The police found the bodies of the "travelers" two weeks later, according to a far from divine scent.
