On September 26, 2017, the entire Internet, apparently, discussed a strange light phenomenon in the sky of Russia, which the media unanimously called “the launch of a Topol M ballistic missile”.

On December 23 of the same year, the glow was repeated (once again). This time, the strange light greatly surprised the residents of Los Angeles:

My friend Dan Klein shot this incredible video of the #SpaceX launch over Marina Del Rey, California. So spooky! pic.twitter.com/6YAVnAjElf

Numerous experts were not taken aback and immediately assured the public that the culprit was Elon Musk's company, which launched the SpaceX space rocket.

Since in the latter case there was not only light in the sky, but also something similar to a real rocket launch was observed, the version with SpaceX proved to be convincing for the total majority. The ufologists who cast their voices in the comments were simply tore into ribbons and called names with different offensive sets of words.

As a result, the UFO community was very offended and took a break to collect thoughts and arguments. And it seems that the pause was good for the ufologists.

After a short search, it suddenly turned out that either a SpaceX space rocket, or a Topol M ballistic missile, or perhaps even a Bulava ballistic missile had already been observed in the skies of Canada exactly 80 years ago. This was in 1937, in Vancouver:

The picture is very old, black and white, but there is eyewitness accounts of the event. According to them, the glow was bright blue and fully fits the description of what is observed in the sky now.

Along the way, they remembered that something similar was painted on the frescoes of one of the monasteries of Yugoslavia:

Something similar was also observed in 1977 over Petrozavodsk:

Technically, the glow of the sky in Petrozavodsk in 1977 can be explained by the secret launch of a ballistic missile. But where did the ballistic missile come from in 1937 in Canada? Why did Serbian monks paint ballistic missiles in their monasteries?

We do not have a definite answer to this question. Therefore, together with everyone, we follow the development of events.
