Laura Barnett from London came to the clinic in 2010 with complaints of dry skin around her eyes. The doctors concluded that the 45-year-old woman had eczema and prescribed hormonal creams. A year and a half later, the British woman stopped using the drugs because "they stopped helping." The abrupt rejection of strong drugs caused a side reaction of the body - the withdrawal syndrome of hormonal ointments. Barnett's body turned red, began to peel and itch.
The disease spoiled the relationship of the British woman with her lover and son. “My boyfriend had to sleep separately. I did not stop itching at night, and he has a very sensitive sleep, - the woman recalls. “Plus, my skin was horribly flaky and bleeding. I vacuumed the bed every morning. Because of stress, lack of sleep and fatigue, I came to work like a zombie. In January 2018, Barnett went to see a dermatologist. A blood test showed that the patient was allergic to dust mites and never had eczema. The woman is undergoing the necessary treatment for the withdrawal syndrome of hormonal ointments and allergies, her skin is restored.
At the end of March, a Japanese woman was reported who ate a cake and was admitted to the hospital with a bout of anaphylactic shock. Experts took a part of the flour for examination and found in the powder mixture up to 4.5 thousand dust mites per gram of product. It turned out that it was the domestic parasites that caused the Japanese woman's strong allergic reaction.
