In a strictly scientific sense, Psi-abilities are psychophysiological abilities:

1) to spontaneous (subconscious) or conscious formation and long-term maintenance of a “special state of consciousness”, which is the basis for the implementation of various Psi-phenomena;

2) to vivid subjective visualization and the formation of vivid mental representations - imaginary mental pictures of any objects, phenomena, events, as well as various subjective sensations in your body;

3) to a stable concentration of attention and powerful impulses of will.

In addition, the "background" (dominant) psychophysiological state of the human brain is of great importance, which should, to the greatest extent possible, ensure its ability to subjectively "open up" to the outside world, integrate, "grow" into it, as well as " feeling "living and inanimate objects, which is necessary to increase the efficiency of the formation of information communication with the objects of Psi-interactions and the implementation of bioenergetic phenomena.

In many cases, in order to realize any Psi-phenomenon, it is necessary to imagine with maximum clarity that this phenomenon is really realized and, at the same time, with a short, extremely strong impulse of will ("transforming" volitional effort) to turn it into an objective reality.

With good Psi-abilities, the “special state of consciousness” can be maintained continuously for several tens of minutes. However, the practical need for a long stay in a "special state of consciousness" rarely arises. Usually, its impulse implementation is sufficient, which also reduces the physiological load on the brain.

In general, it is necessary to distinguish between skills, abilities and skills for the implementation of Psi-phenomena. Skills are universal in relation to the implementation of different types of Psi-phenomena and training is developed first in terms of teaching the formation of various vivid mental representations ("psycho-models") and subjective sensations, informational connection with the object of interaction and "special state of consciousness" in relation to any one initially mastered type of Psi-phenomena, and then in terms of teaching the formation of specific modifications of the "special state of consciousness" corresponding to other types of dominant psychophysiological states during the implementation of Psi-phenomena. The ability to realize Psi-phenomena is individual and depends on a person's sex, degree of natural health and genetically predetermined characteristics of his brain,peculiarities of brain development in the process of a person's life (this is also influenced by the peculiarities of mental development), general physical health and the degree of development of "bioenergetics" of the organism, as well as the degree of fitness, which is interconnected with the latter two factors. They undergo continuous changes in the process of a person's life: they can increase or decrease, suddenly activate, transform in terms of an increase in the ability to realize one type of Psi-phenomena and weakening of the ability to implement other types of Psi-phenomena. Skills for the implementation of Psi-phenomena are the total experience, knowledge and intelligence, which, based on the existing skills and abilities, allow to implement various new variants of the main types of Psi-phenomena in specific cases, to find optimal solutions to emerging problems.

However, in the common sense, Psi abilities are generally understood as the sum of physiological abilities, skills, and abilities.
