In a combat and extreme environment, there is no time for sleep. However, you need to rest. The rapid sleep system, developed in the 1980s, is still working - a Russian commando has confirmed its effectiveness.

Insomnia is the eternal companion of modern life. A huge number of people around the planet dream of quickly falling asleep and getting up in the morning, vigorous and rested. Alas, often many have to toss and turn in bed for hours and go into the arms of Morpheus only after taking medications.

Meanwhile, the technique of fast falling asleep, developed in the 1980s by the American trainer and psychologist Bud Winter, is still used today, and it really works. In addition, there is a way to get enough sleep in just 15 minutes - it was used during the Second World War. A Russian special forces soldier confirmed the effectiveness of these techniques and told how to fall asleep in 2 minutes.

The fast sleep technique was described by Bud Winter in his book Relax and Win: Championship Performance. The author warns that it can take up to six weeks to master, although some manage to learn this much earlier.

So, in order to fall asleep while sitting, you need to follow these steps:

1. Sit on a chair, put your legs parallel to each other and lean back.

2. Cross your arms over your chest, relax your head muscles and lower your chin to your chest.

3. Relax your eyes, jaws, lips and tongue, lower your shoulders down.

4. Begin breathing deeply and slowly, relaxing with each exhalation. The arms and legs should feel as if they are separate from the body.

Winter also advises imagining that when falling asleep, lying in a boat that floats on a calm lake, or in a velvet hammock swaying in a dark room.

According to the Russian special forces soldier Alexander B., all the same can be done while lying down, but it is better to keep your arms not crossed over your chest, but stretch them along the body. If you cannot relax the muscles of the body, then you can use one technique: first, strain them as much as possible, and then try to relax. Repeat the action several times until you feel complete relaxation. “Also, for greater efficiency, you can roll your eyes under closed eyelids, the main thing is to do it without tension,” explains Alexander.

Breathing according to the "4-7-8" method

In the event that it is still difficult to relax, altered breathing according to the "4-7-8" method will help you fall asleep. For four seconds, the person sleeping calmly inhales air through the nose. Then he holds his breath for seven seconds. The air is then exhaled for 8 seconds through the mouth.

This exercise slows down the heart rate - it helps to lower the body temperature, and the person quickly falls asleep.

A quick fall to sleep, with sufficient mastering of this technique, allows you to feel more invigorated in 15 minutes. 15 minutes of such relaxation is enough for subsequent wakefulness for four hours. This method is good if you have to work hard and there is no way to sleep humanly. If you do this a couple of times a day, then at night five hours of sleep will be enough to feel the next morning vigor and stay in good shape.
