Well, just like in the movie "Inception," enthuses the Daily Mail. Two Brooklyn-based inventors have designed a sleep mask that allows people to have vivid dreams and control them.
It looks like an ordinary sleep mask - such are in demand among air passengers and other people who have to sleep in unsuitable places.
But in fact, this is a special device. On the inside of the mask are six red LEDs: too dim to wake the sleeper, but noticeable enough for the brain to pay attention to. "The LEDs can be programmed to turn on in a specific sequence," the newspaper says.
When a person enters REM sleep - the dreaming phase - the LEDs turn on. The idea is simple: if in a dream you see blinking red lights in the distance, then you will understand that you are only dreaming, and you will be able to direct the dream in any plot channel yourself.
The inventors - Duncan Frezier and Stephen McGuigan - are 30 years old. Frezier says he uses the mask several times a week, but admits that getting into lucid dreaming is not easy.
