One of the largest diamonds in the world was discovered in the small kingdom of Lesotho in southern Africa. When cut, it will weigh approximately 150 carats and is expected to cost more than $ 12 million

The diamond that will turn out from the found stone will surpass, apparently, the famous "Koh-i-Noor" from the treasury of the British crown: it weighs "only" 105 carats. True, the found diamond “does not reach” the legendary “Cullinan” - that one “pulled” as much as 3106 carats, and when it was cut several diamonds were obtained, the weight of one of which - the “Big Star of Africa” - reached 530 carats.

The diamond was discovered by workers at the Letseng mine. There were found four of the twenty largest diamonds in the world. And this time, the mine has confirmed its reputation: the raw weight of the stone is 478 carats - thus, it is one of the twenty largest diamonds in history. Gem Diamonds, which together with the Lesotho government owns the mine, have already said: "Cutting will make one of the largest diamonds with a unique color and clarity."
