Four of the 10 countries most significantly affected by extreme weather related to climate change in 2015 are in the African continent. Such data was presented at the climate talks in Marrakech. Africa is particularly vulnerable to global warming, according to the lead author of the Global Climate Risk Index 2017, Zonke Krefta.

According to experts from the non-profit organization Germanwatch, which was responsible for the preparation of the report, the least developed countries in the world, which make the least contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, and at the same time suffer the most from the effects of climate change - such as superstorms, droughts and floods.

At the end of 2015, Mozambique topped the rating of the countries that suffered the most significant losses from extreme weather events. Dominica, Malawi and India are behind it. In addition, the list includes Myanmar, Ghana, Madagascar, Philippines, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam and Thailand.
