Residents of the village of Raigorod (population 2848), Svetloyarsk District (Volgograd Region), are scared. Recently, several young, healthy men between the ages of 30 and 40 have voluntarily climbed into the noose.
Raigorod residents live in fear for several months. They are haunted by the feeling that a mystical threat is hanging over the village. Everyone asks the question: who will be next in a series of ridiculous deaths that shook a small village.
The first who decided to commit suicide was 30-year-old Sergei. The man lived with his parents in an ordinary two-story apartment, the family was completely ordinary. Although the guy did not have a wife, he did have a bride. The couple was preparing for the wedding and suddenly … Sergei was found hanged. This death was the first in a series of ridiculous suicides that shook the village.
Another resident of Raygorod, a 40-year-old man, voluntarily went to the forefathers next. Wife, son - the villager had everything like the others.
For some time the villagers lived in peace. And then another terrible news - 30-year-old Nikolai, who was a distant relative of the deceased Sergei, was gone. He is survived by a wife and a small child. The man was found hanged in the basement of a two-story building.
Residents of Raygorod began to wonder. It turned out that after the death of Sergei (the first suicide) one villager dreamed and said that his death was not the last, they say, he would take two more with him. And so it happened.
However, the series of misfortunes did not end there. A week ago, the villagers buried a young man. For about 15 days his relatives were looking for him: at that time he was hanging in a noose in a barn next to his house …

Moreover, according to the investigators who investigated each case of suicide, none of the dead was a heavy drinker.
- Of course, they drank, in the village everyone drinks, but in moderation, - say the residents of Raygorod. - We live in fear - who will be next? Is our village damned?
Raigorod residents seriously thought - what if it couldn’t do without witchcraft?
According to the Volgograd sorceress Elina Glazunova, this is quite possible. She said that in this village people sin with witchcraft. There is even a special ritual of the highest black magic, which is performed on the waning moon. And the abuser of the black magician takes his own life very quickly for no reason.
“The villagers need to think about whether a witch or a witch lives somewhere near at least one of their dead?” Says the witch. - I had a case in practice. In one of the villages, people began to die. Not long before the strange pestilence, several men-carpenters were doing repairs to a dilapidated house for one grandmother. The conflict with the villager, who was reputed to be a witch, ended sadly.
Elina Glazunova advises residents not to be afraid of anything and to go to church more often. Stress and negativity provoke panic and may well lead to new deaths.
Psychologists explain the problem of suicide in their own way.
“The age from 30 to 40 is extremely difficult for men, at this time there is a reassessment of values,” says Volgograd psychologist Svetlana Sypkova. - Sometimes reality does not coincide with the illusion that a person has built for himself.
In her opinion, a man begins to think that he is a failure. And in the end, such a person finds the only way out for himself to stop mental suffering.
The specialist assures that more often than not, people who decide to leave this life do not tell anyone about it. And men often prepare for this thoroughly, put their affairs in order. Emotionally spontaneous suicides are more common in women, and also occur in adolescence. For men, suicide is more of a deliberate choice.
